Services and Fees
Upon completion of the contact form, we provide a free telephone consult to discuss your claim concerns and possible issues to pursue. If you want to just call or send a quick email please do.
For a flat rate fee we will conduct a complete review of your claim file and identify any potential entitlement pursuits, as well as other benefits and services that you may be entitled to. We produce a documented review so you can see in writing what we found and what we believe you may wish to consider.
Post the review, we will act on your behalf pursuing issues of entitlement and/or denied entitlement up to and including the final level of appeal, the Alberta Appeals Commission. Our services can be commission or retainer based, or both, so you have options.
A commission is applied to retroactive lump-sum entitlement recoveries and disability awards that are the direct result of AWCC advocacy and representation*. The commission is payable upon the WCB's deposit of funds into your bank account or the issuing of a cheque. There is NO commission applied to ongoing benefits.
There are circumstances when a commission based service may not be applicable. In those circumstances we provide expert advocacy services on retainer. We provide these services on a competitive hourly billing rate, and can also offer flexible payment options.
Often our services are provided on a combined commission/retainer basis ensuring flexibility for clients wishing to secure our services.
AWCC's service contracts are both comprehensive and clear. We accept electronic fund transfers (EFT) for fees. In some circumstances alternate payment methods may be arranged. There are no monthly fees and no pre-charges on credit cards.
We are always transparent in what we do. If it is believed that we cannot successfully pursue WCB benefits and/or services on your behalf we will advise you, and we may have suggestions for you or other services to recommend.
A simple example is a retroactive $25,000.00 lump sum payout on a previously denied wage loss.
$25,000.00 x 0.20 (20% commission) = $5000 owing on commission.
You retain the remaining $20,000.00 balance AND have also gained an ongoing monthly wage loss payment that is not subject to any commission.
There is NO commission charged for the ongoing wage replacement benefits.
*Retroactive from the decision implementation date.
